The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
