The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Issuing from the pelvis between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
