Believers, obey God and His Messengers and do not turn away from Him when you hear (His commands). 20 and be not like those who say: "We have heard", the while they do not hearken. 21 ۞ Verily the vilest of beasts with Allah are the deaf and dumb who understand not. 22 If God had known of any good in them He would have made them hear; and if He had made them hear, they would have turned away, swerving aside. 23 O People who Believe! Present yourselves upon the command of Allah and His Noble Messenger, when the Noble Messenger calls you towards the matter that will bestow you life; and know that the command of Allah becomes a barrier between a man and his heart’s intentions, and that you will all be raised towards Him. 24 And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution. 25 Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. 26 O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you). 27 And know that your possessions and your children are a test, and that with Allah is immense reward. 28
