Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
