Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 Those who are bent on blaspheming against their Lord will have the punishment of Hell: an evil destination. 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
