Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
