The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And no trifle. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
