Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And linen spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
