Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Until ye come to the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
