Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
