a large throng from the ancients, 39 and a multitude of the later people. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 and constantly said: 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 WE who have created you, [O men:] why, then, do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Did you create it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 Verily we are undone. 66 “In fact, we were unfortunate!” 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire which you strike? 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74
