Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble, writers 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
