The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 there is no denying its coming 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and spreading shade 30 Gushing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
