Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the particular dawn. 1 By the Nights twice five; 2 And by the even and the odd, 3 by the night when it journeys on! 4 There surely is an oath for thinking man. 5 Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with 'Ad (people)? 6 the people of the huge columned city of Eram 7 Like whom no one else was born in the cities. 8 And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- 9 and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 10 [It was they] who transgressed all bounds of equity all over their lands, 11 And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). 12 Then their Lord unloosed upon them the lash of chastisement. 13 for, indeed, your Sustainer is ever on the watch! 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him by exalting him and bestowing His bounties upon him, he says: “My Lord has exalted me.” 15 But when he tries him and stints for him his provision, then he says, 'My Lord has despised me.' 16 But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably, 17 Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- 18 And devour the inheritance devouring greedily, 19 And you love wealth with immense love. 20 By no means! when the earth shall be ground with grinding, grinding, 21 And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank, 22 On that day, hell will be brought closer and the human being will come to his senses, but this will be of no avail to him. 23 He will say, "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life!" 24 Wherefore on that Day none shall torment with His torment. 25 none shall bind as He binds. 26 O the contented soul! 27 Return unto thine Lord well pleased and well-pleasing. 28 Join My servants. 29 and enter My Paradise.” 30
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
