The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And those on the left how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and serried acacias, 29 and shade extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
