The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
