Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
