Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
