And do not kill your children, fearing poverty; We shall provide sustenance to them as well as to you; indeed killing them is a great mistake. 31 Do not commit adultery, for it is an indecent thing and an evil course. 32 And do not take a life, which God has forbidden, except in a just cause. We have given the right (of redress) to the heir of the person who is killed, but he should not exceed the limits (of justice) by slaying (the killer), for he will be judged (by the same law). 33 And do not touch the substance of an orphan, save to improve it, before he comes of age. And be true to every promise - for, verily, [on Judgment Day] you will be called to account for every promise which you have made! 34 Give full measure, when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales. That is fair, and better in the end. 35 Do not follow what you do not know; for the ear and the eye and the heart shall all be called to account. 36 And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height. 37 All of that -- the wickedness of it is hateful in the sight of thy Lord has revealed to thee: 38 This is (part) of that wisdom wherewith thy Lord hath inspired thee (O Muhammad). And set not up with Allah any other god, lest thou be cast into hell, reproved, abandoned. 39 Hath your Lord then distinguished you (O men of Makka) by giving you sons, and hath chosen for Himself females from among the angels? Lo! verily ye speak an awful word! 40
