(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And make my mission easy. 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and may remember You much. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
