1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Then, are we not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
