Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 "I said (to them): 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
