The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
