Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
