The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
