The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
