Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
