Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HA MIM. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
