Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
