The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
