(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 and ease my task for me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 and let him share my task 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
