And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
