We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 And [then,] the twilight of death brings with it the [full] truth that [very thing, O man,] from which thou wouldst always look away! 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 Cast ye twain into Hell every person rebellious, contumacious. 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ His companion (Satan devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray." 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
