By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. The disbelievers will not have any intercessor. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books like the prophets. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
