Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
