He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 From him you are distracted. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 uplifted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his wife and his children, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing and joyous 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
