Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
