EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say: "He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it (this Quran)?" Nay! They believe not! 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or are they contriving a stratagem against you? If so, that stratagem will rebound against the unbelievers. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
