Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
