Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
