Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 The revelation of the Book, there is no doubt in it, is from the Lord of the worlds. 2 Do they say, "He has invented it himself."? No indeed! It is the truth from your Lord to warn a people to whom, before you, no warner came, so that hopefully they may be rightly guided. 3 It is God who created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, then assumed all authority. You have no protector other than Him, nor any intercessor. Will you not be warned even then? 4 He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count. 5 He is the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible, the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 6 It is He Who created everything in the best manner and began the creation of the human being from clay. 7 Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained. 8 Then He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him the soul (created by Allah for that person), and He gave you hearing (ears), sight (eyes) and hearts. Little is the thanks you give! 9 And they say, "When we are lost within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers. 10 ۞ (Muhammad), say, "The angel of death, who is appointed over everyone of you, will cause you to die and to your Lord you will all return." 11
