And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 (Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell, where they will be roasted. An evil place to dwell! 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
