Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 [O YOU who deny the truth!] Should We, perchance, withdraw this reminder from you altogether, seeing that you are people bent on wasting your own selves? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
