Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! 25 (We told Salih), "Tomorrow they will know who is the most arrogant liar. 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 Indeed We sent upon them a single Scream – thereupon they became like the barrier builder’s residual dry trampled hay. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The nation of Lot belied Our warnings. 33 We let loose on all of them a squall of claystones, except for the house of Lot whom We saved at dawn 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
