Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people." 94 We certainly have the power to show you what they have been warned about. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe. 96 And say: 'O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from evil suggestions of the satans. 97 and I take refuge in Thee, O my Lord, lest they attend me.' 98 When death approaches one of the unbelievers, he says, "Lord, send me back again 99 haply I shall do righteousness in that I forsook.' Nay, it is but a word he speaks; and there; behind them, is a barrier until the day that they shall be raised up. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness. 102 But those whose scales weigh light will have ruined their souls; in Hell will they abide. 103 Their faces will be scorched by flames, and they will grin and scowl within it. 104 “Were not My verses recited to you, so you used to deny them?” 105 They will say: Our Lord! Our evil fortune conquered us, and we were erring folk. 106 Get us out of this, O Lord. If we transgress we will surely be sinful." 107 [But] He will say: "Away with you into this [ignominy]! And speak no more unto Me! 108 Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy; 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 Today I shall recompense them for their patience, for it is they that have won. 111 He shall say, 'How long have you tarried in the earth, by number of years?' 112 They will say, "We remained a day or part of a day; ask those who enumerate." 113 [Whereupon] He will say: "You have spent there but a short while: had you but known [how short it was to be]! 114 So do you think that We have created you needlessly, and that you do not have to return to Us? 115 Then, exalted be God, the true King, there is no deity except Him, the Lord of the Glorious Throne. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 (Muhammad), say, "Lord, forgive me and grant me mercy; You are the best of the Merciful Ones. 118
