Those who deny the truth will be told, "God's abhorrence of you is greater than your hatred of yourselves. You were called to the faith but you denied it." 10 They will say: our Lord! Thou hast made us die twice, and Thou hast made us live twice. Now we confess our sins: is there no getting out any way? 11 That is because when Allah alone was called upon, you disbelieved, and when associates were given to Him, you believed; so judgment belongs to Allah, the High, the Great. 12 It is He who shows you His signs, and sends you food from the heavens. Yet none takes a warning except him who turns to Him. 13 So call upon Allah, consecrating all your devotion to Him, howsoever much the unbelievers may dislike it. 14 Exalted in Rank, Lord of the Throne: He causes the spirit to descend on whomsoever of His servants He pleases so as to warn them of the Day of Encounter; 15 The day when they come forth, nothing of them being hidden from Allah. Whose is the Sovereignty this day? It is Allah's, the One, the Almighty. 16 Each soul will be recompensed that Day for what it had earned. There will be no depriving on that Day. Surely God is swift at reckoning. 17 [O Prophet] forewarn them of the approaching Day, when hearts will leap up to the throats and choke them; when the wrongdoers will have no friend, nor any intercessor who will be listened to, 18 God knows the disloyalty of the eyes and what the hearts conceal. 19 God will judge with [justice and] truth: but those whom they invoke besides Him, have no power to judge at all. Surely, God is all hearing, all seeing. 20
