The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
