He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 To him you give attention. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 Olives and dates, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing and joyous 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
