The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
