Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
