Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
