Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
